This is because you have not granted ELSA Microphone access yet. Upon installation of the app, ELSA will prompt you with a popup requesting you to allow ELSA access to your device's microphone, which you selected "No" to. As such, please manually grant ELSA access to your device microphone from the Settings:

For Android phones (e.g. Samsung, Oppo, Sony, Huawei, etc)

  1. On your device, open the Settings Cài đặt.

  2. Tap on Apps or Application Manager (depending on your device, this may be different).

  3. Select ELSA Speak.

  4. Tap on Permissions.

  5. Turn on the Microphone settings

For iOS phones (iPhone / iPad)

  1. On your device, open the Settings Image result for setting icon ios app.

  2. Click on the ELSA Speak Application

  3. Next to Microphone rights, tap on the switch to switch on enable the Microphone settings (the switch will turn green)

If you did the steps above and it still doesn't work, please try these:

  1. Could you please first try switching your network? For example, if you had been connecting to WiFi, kindly switch to 3G / 4G; if you had been connecting to 3G / 4G, kindly switch to WiFi to see if there is any improvement in loading speed.
  2. Please visit this website to check your Internet connection as ELSA runs smoothly at 25Mbps at least. (Video lessons require a higher Internet speed ~40Mbps).
  3. If the above does not work, kindly try re-installing the app to see if it helps. Please be reminded that the graph in your Progress / Coach tab will reset after re-installation. However, you may rest assured that your progress will be saved.

In case the problem persists, it would be deeply appreciated if you could help us take some screenshots or record a video so that our team can deeply check and offer you further support via support@elsanow.io
