Here are some ways to get the most from ELSA:

1. Use ELSA every day for at least 10 minutes. People practicing every day on ELSA improved by 40% in the 3 weeks. Moreover, make sure that you review each mistake that you make to gradually improve over time.

2. Please also set a goal for yourself to get high results and pronounce all the sounds correctly (turn green). In case it's virtually impossible to get all letters to turn green at that time, please move on and come back to that word/sentence the next day after checking its pronunciation on the ELSA dictionary.

3. If you get a word wrong after several tries, just skip to the next word. Words you skip are saved to your Word Bank so you practice it later.

Moreover, we would like to assist you in exploring more features while learning with ELSA

I. Assessment Test

As you start out with ELSA, you will be prompted to take an assessment test to evaluate your current English proficiency level based on your strengths and areas for improvement in your pronunciation. A customized lesson plan will then be created just for you. While you do not have to follow it strictly, I highly recommend using your customized lesson plan. As of now, the Assessment test evaluates users in terms of pronunciation, fluency, and intonation. These three metrics are combined. Therefore, the score shown on the Assessment page is the combination of pronunciation, fluency, and intonation.

  • To take the test, go to Profile > Progress > Scroll down & click on “Find your level now”

In particular, we offer the Triangular feature. Here you can get a better grasp of which part needs to be worked on after taking the Assessment Test (pronunciation, fluency, and intonation) instead of just showing the scores. Moreover, it also predicts your IELTS speaking score and the detailed score in each phoneme.

Note: As the assessment test does not include listening and stress skills, there will only 3 skills mentioned in the results (pronunciation, fluency, and intonation)

II. Lesson Topics

Our lessons are categorized into different skills so that users can learn each skill separately and at their own pace. You can also learn skills by common topics such as Movies, Entertainment, and Business, just to name a few. The aim of this is to train users to use words/phrases commonly used by native English speakers and help users form a habit of using good grammar and sentence structure

III. Advanced Mode

After completing each lesson, a report will be generated to show you the accuracy of your pronunciations and how you can improve your sound. Enjoy instant feedback from ELSA, correct your mistakes quickly, and become a step closer to speaking English fluently like a native speaker! Should you wish to be assessed for the entire word/phrase, please click on the "Advanced" option at the top of the page.

IV. Dictionary

In addition to all the features listed above, we have a dictionary feature, where you are able to search up any English word, and ELSA will teach you how to pronounce it and is able to assess you immediately.

V. Study sets

In the dictionary, on the top of the screen, you will find the Study Sets tab. Here, you can create your own Study Set (word list) or take on other Trending Study Sets.
